Meet Dr. Blake
Dr. Blake Jarrard is a native Arkansan and has been practicing at Progressive Eye Center and Boutique since 2018 and practice owner since 2022. He attended the University of Central Arkansas, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in History and then received his doctorate at Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, Tn. He completed internships at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Batesville Eye Care Center in Batesville, Ar which provided experience in primary care optometry, treatment and management of ocular disease and contact lens fits. Dr. Jarrard enjoys providing care for patients of all ages and gained experience in pediatric care while working for a pediatric health care group in the Memphis school system.
Dr. Jarrard is committed to service and enjoys providing eye care both locally and internationally. As an optometry student, he was vice president of the Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH) organization and traveled to Central and South America every summer to provide glasses and eye care services. He also has enjoyed providing vision screenings at the Sylvan Hills Methodist Church.
Dr. Jarrard is a member of the Arkansas Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association and the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce.
Outside of the office you may see Dr. Jarrard with his wife Hannah, his daughter Nora and his son Calvin. Patient care, managing the practice and fatherhood keep Dr. Jarrard busy, but in his spare time he enjoys the outdoors, reading, and gaming.
