Pediatric Eye Exams

Comprehensive eye
examinations.

At Progressive Eye Center and Boutique, we are passionate about pediatric eye exams and believe all children should have an eye exam before age 1 to ensure their eyes are poised to develop properly.

Beyond infant exams, a child with good visual health should be seen at 3 years of age, before entering school at age 5, and then every 1 to 2 years thereafter, depending on the doctor’s recommendation.

Nearsightedness in children.

Myopia, or nearsightedness, is the most common cause of vision impairment in people under age 40. In children it can make it difficult to interact with their environment and limit their performance in school and sports.

Once identified, we can now slow down the development of Myopia with specially designed contact lenses or medication such as Atropine 0.01%.
